Could Florida State be able to find a way to acquire Class of 2025 five-star tight end commit Elyiss Williams from Georgia?

FSU football made it a priority last recruiting cycle to secure playmakers for their offense where they acquired four-star wide receivers Camdon Frier, BJ Gibson, Lawayne McCoy, and Elijah Moore as well as four-star tight end Landen Thomas.

Speaking of the tight end position, Seminole fans understand how vital the particular group is to head football coach Mike Norvell and his offense. They are utilized in so many different ways within the scheme. While he referred to Thomas as "the best tight end in America", it is important to continue to acquire talent within the room.

One prospect to monitor as we navigate the 2025 recruiting cycle is Georgia five-star tight end commit Elyiss Williams from Camden County High School in Kingsland (GA). Williams has continued to showcase mutual interest with the Seminoles even though he has been committed to the Bulldogs since April 8, 2023.

The Camden County High School standout visited Tallahassee for their contest versus the Duke Blue Devils on October 21st. Williams is an elite prospect where he is classified as the number one tight end according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. He is listed at 6'7" and 235 pounds.

Obviously, with that size and length, Williams can overwhelm opposing defenders with his ability to highpoint the football. As we remember from the last two seasons, the Seminoles were able to utilize 6'7" Johnny Wilson similarly.

Tight ends coach Chris Thomsen is continuing to cook with hot grease on the recruiting trail after fans were counting him out. It reminds me a lot of the "Ron Dugans redemption story" where the assistant coaches continued to block out the unnecessary noise and recruited at a high level.

Overall, it would be amazing to get Williams in the fold. Hopefully, this could be a Landen Thomas situation where the Seminoles can continue to push for a flip from the Bulldogs.
