Florida State hosted several highly-touted prospects for their second scrimmage of the spring. The Seminoles currently have four prospects committed to the fold in the 2025 recruiting cycle. However, the coaching staff would like to several more recruits to the fold.

On Saturday, the Seminoles offered Class of 2025 athlete JP Powell from Miller County High School in Colquitt, Georgia during his visit. We at ChopChat decided to conduct a Q&A with the talented playmaker.

Q: I noticed that you visited Tallahassee this weekend while they were having their second spring scrimmage. What stood out to you about the trip?

A: "The energy around the program is phenomenal. Coach Norvell is high energy!"

Q: What was it like receiving an offer from Florida State? What coach do you speak to the most?

A: "It is an amazing feeling for a school that I've followed as a kid to offer me to come play for them. Coach Johnson is who I spent the most time with. I also had meetings with Coach Norvell and Atkins."

Q: What position is the Florida State coaching staff recruiting you as?

A: "Running back."

Q: Do you have any return trips to Tallahassee?

A: "Spring game on April 20th."

Q: As you continue to go through your recruitment, are there any factors that will go into your decision? With the new offer from the Seminoles, does this place them high on your list?

A: "FSU is an offer that I have been looking for a long time. I have followed the Noles for a long time and it is close to home so that definitely carries a lot of weight."

We would like to thank JP for taking the time out of his day to answer our questions. Be sure to follow him on his Twitter (X) account by clicking here.
