Virginia was able to sneak into the NCAA Tournament last season after being in the bubble for the majority of the year. The Cavaliers were one of the better teams in the ACC but only showed flashes of greatness, but nothing they could sustain. Now it is time for Virginia to rebuild, but with Tony Bennett's past success, it may not be as difficult as it could be.

The Cavalier lost leading scorer Reece Beekman and Ryan Dunn to the NBA Draft, along with Jacob Groves, Dante Harris, and Jordan Minor to the transfer portal. The loss of Harris hurts and the Cavaliers need a true ball-handler with only redshirt freshman Christian waiting in the wings.

Virginia has yet to land a player out of the transfer portal and with the portal closing on May 1st, they are running out of time. Bennet will most likely have to rely on the players that stayed and incoming transfers to run his team next year, but depth could end up being an issue with no transfers.
