The Louisville Cardinals had a mass exodus after head coach Kenny Payne was fired. Now the Cardinals hired Charleston's Pat Kelsey to fill the position, but he had to practically build the team from the ground up.

After having literally no one on his roster, Kelsey had his work cut out for him, but he stepped up to the challenge and so far has brought in eight transfers, including a few of his old players from Charleston. Kelsey was able to bring in quite a few players from other power conferences like Chucky Hepburn from Wisconsin who averaged 9.2 points per game and 3.9 assists and J'Vonne Hadley who averaged 11.6 points per game 6.0 rebounds.

There is a solid mix of power conference payers and players from smaller conferences who are hungry to prove themselves. The only player that Kelsey brought in who probably won't see the court much next year due to knee issues is Aly Khalifa from BYU. Other than that, Kelsey has good pieces, now he just has to fit them together.
