Cal is the other team moving to the ACC from the ruins of the Pac-12. Cal finished the season 13-19 which was good considering the season before they went 3-29. Head coach Mark Madsen improved the team in just one season, but there is still a lot of work to do. Like many first-year head coaches, Madsen had a lot of transfers in his first year who are now out of eligibility and also lost Jaylon Tyson who averaged 19.6 points for the Golden Bears.

However, Madsen has shown his ability to bring in players from the portal by recruiting six players out of the portal so far. Only two of the six players come form power conferences and Joshua Ola-Joseph has the most experience between those two players and only averaged 7.5 points per game and 2.2 rebounds.

The other four come from smaller conferences, but their numbers are better, but the question is how they will adjust to a power conference like the SEC with so many blue-blood schools. That is biggest concern and the reason the Golden Bears aren't higher in the these rankings.
