ACC early power rankings. . . . 436. . . 9. .

Georgia Tech had a rough season last year, but with first-year head coach Damon Staoudamire returning along with four of their top scorers and returners, the Yellow Jackets could have a big leap in year two of the Staoudamire era.

Two of those four returning starters are freshmen Nathan George and Baye Ndongo. The best thing about freshmen returning is that they almost always take a step forward in year two as long as they get the proper playing time to allow them to get better. Even though Miles Kelly declared for the NBA Draft, it looks as though he will probably return for his fifth and final year.

The Yellow Jackets have depth in the backcourt bringing in Javon CCullom from Oklahoma and Luke O'Brien from Colorado. They need some depth and size in the frontcourt, but they have a solid recruiting class coming in that can add that depth, they just aren't as experienced. Be on the look out for Georgia Tech to make some waves in the ACC next season.
