8 weeks away from Florida State football's season opener versus Georgia Tech
WR HYKEEM WILLIAMS
I was so excited when Florida State was able to pick up former five-star wide receiver prospect Hykeem Williams from Stranahan High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in the 2023 recruiting cycle. His combination of speed, size, and strength was something that the Seminoles haven't seen at the wide receiver position from a recruit in a while.
Florida State had the luxury last season of having the services of big-bodied playmakers such as Keon Coleman and Johnny Wilson. As a result, the Seminoles did not need the contributions of Hykeem Williams in 2023.
As expected, Williams took a little bit to get acclimated to the collegiate game. During his first offseason, people were talking about how he was out of shape and not consistent enough. However, he put his head down and went to work. He finished the 2023 season with five receptions for 80 yards and one touchdown.
With Coleman and Wilson going off to the NFL, Williams will be expected to shoulder the load of the wide receiver position. However, he has to remain consistent with his play.
