8 weeks away from Florida State football's season opener versus Georgia Tech

Can you believe it? We are now eight weeks away from Florida State football's season opener versus the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in Dublin, Ireland on Saturday, August 24th.

This Seminoles' football team will look entirely different from a season ago where players such as quarterback Jordan Travis, defensive end Jared Verse, and linebacker Kalen DeLoach will no longer be coming out of the runnel as players anymore.

However, that is the landscape of college football. Teams have to continue to retool as players leave the roster because of graduation, NFL Draft, and entering the transfer portal. The Seminoles added over forty newcomers via recruiting trail and transfer portal to its roster this offseason to counteract some of its losses.

With that being said, I want to discuss two players on the roster who wear the number eight jersey numbers on the Seminoles' roster in junior defensive back Azareye'h Thomas and sophomore Hykeem Williams (in honor of the season opener being eight weeks away).
