SPECIAL TEAMS IS THE STANDARD

Special teams have always been a huge piece at Florida State since Norvell took over as the head football coach.

He provided the following statement: "Special teams are the standard. We want our best players to have an impact. Patrick Payton has been able to get a couple of blocks."

It is no secret that Norvell's team has dedicated a ton of time, effort, and dedication to the special teams aspect of the game. Just look at defensive back Shyheim Brown during the 2022 matchup versus the LSU Tigers where he blocked the extra point to win the contest.

Overall, everyone wants to talk about flashy offenses and strong defenses. But special teams can be a pivotal part of a football team as well. I am glad to see the investment that continues to show up with that phase of the game.
