5-star QB prospect Brady Smigiel receives expert predictions to Florida State

Florida State ranks as the second-best recruiting class in the 2026 cycle, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. The Seminoles currently have three commitments in the fold with four-star wide receivers Darryon Williams and Efrem White as well as four-star safety Darryl Bell III.

I realize that a portion of the Seminole fan base is not worried about prospects from the 2026 recruiting class. This is in large part since the Early Signing Period for this class could be a ways away if they don't pass where there will be a summer signing period.

Fans typically respond that they don't worry about it until they sign the dotted line. Even in today's college football landscape, that thought process isn't even a safe place because players enter the transfer portal in the spring even before playing a snap.

Overall, head football coach Mike Norvell understands the ramifications of acquiring talent for their 2026 recruiting class. It is the firm foundation of the program. Norvell always talks about building sustainable success for the longevity of the program.

On Monday night, Norvell might have started to see his hard work and dedication pay off on the recruiting trail as On3's Steve Wiltfong and Chad Simmons put in two expert predictions in favor of Florida State for Class of 2026 five-star quarterback Brady Smigiel from Newbury, California.

During the 2023 season, Smigiel completed 282 of his 479 passes for 4,222 yards with 52 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. The talented signal-caller visited Tallahassee in April and has developed a great relationship with head football coach Mike Norvell and quarterbacks coach Tony Tokarz.

The Seminoles offered the quarterback back on back on January 17, 2023. As a result, the connection has been brewing for quite some time. Florida State already has Brock Glenn, Luke Kromenhoek, and Trever Jackson in the room with 2025 four-star Tramell Jones Jr. committed to the fold. The quarterback position could be looking legendary if they acquire Smigiel.
