5-star OL Josh Petty includes the Noles in top schools list
Florida State football has several highly-touted prospects that it is involved in the 2025 recruiting cycle. One such recruit is five-star offensive lineman Josh Petty from Fellowship Christian School in Roswell, Georgia.
He has been trending of the Seminoles for a little bit now. What makes it even better is that Petty's sister will be going to school in Tallahassee this fall so it could be an easy adjustment for his family to have both children in one location.
Petty dropped his top five schools list on Tuesday involving teams such as Florida State, Georgia Tech, Ohio State, Tennessee, and Stanford. This is not a shocking development with the schools that he chose.
However, I am surprised that a team like Clemson did not get more involved when he unofficially visited in March. That said, I don't say I blame Petty for not putting the Tigers on the top schools list after head football coach Dabo Swinney went viral for a cringy video with recruits/players again.
Overall, this is a testament to the recruiting ability of offensive coordinator/offensive line coach Alex Atkins and his prowess on the trail. While I know that his utilizing transfers in his rotation will get a ton of discussion, the system that he has in place works.
Florida State currently has one offensive lineman committed to their 2025 recruiting cycle in five-star interior offensive lineman Solomon Thomas from Raines High School in Jacksonville, Florida. Thomas has been back and forth with the recruitment process.
Honestly, I believe that recruits should enjoy the recruitment process and do what is best for them and their loved ones. However, I would love for the Seminoles to get both Thomas and Petty into the fold. Having two five-star prospects at the position could do wonders for the future stability of the unit.
