Florida State football is conducting its spring scrimmage today where several prospects are visiting campus. I noted three highly-touted recruits who were taking the trip in a previous article.

Florida State is trying to elevate its recruiting class to new heights as it ranks as the 25th-best in the 247Sports Composite rankings. That is not acceptable for the Seminoles as they look to obtain a top-ten recruiting class.

Recruiting is all about securing prospects while it is noteworthy to keep recruits that you have in the fold. The Seminoles has pledges such as five-star offensive lineman Solomon Thomas, four-star quarterback Tramell Jones Jr., four-star defensive end Javion Hilson, and four-star linebacker Ethan Pritchard.

One prospect to monitor is five-star offensive lineman Solomon Thomas from Raines High School in Jacksonville, Florida. Thomas has been pledged to the Seminoles since December 2023.

The talented offensive lineman is considered the 14th-best prospect in the 2025 recruiting cycle. Thomas is viewed as an interior offensive lineman for Florida State.

The talented prospect has taken several visits to other schools this spring. However, he has still managed to take trips to other schools. Recruiting is so ever-changing, but offensive coordinator/offensive line coach Alex Atkins needs to continue to try and make him feel welcome in the fold.

This is a pivotal trip for Thomas as the Seminoles look to keep him committed. I realize that the fan base is worried about the recruiting class only having four commitments right now. However, it is only April as Early Signing Day is in December.

The coaching staff knows what it needs to do to solidify a top-ten recruiting class. As head football coach Mike Norvell has displayed, they know how to find a fine balance between acquiring high school prospects and transfers in the portal to sustain continued success in Tallahassee.
