LB CAM RILEY

Florida State football knew that it had an uphill battle this upcoming season as they had to find viable options to replace the top-two tackles from last year's team in linebackers Kalen DeLoach and Tatum Bethune. Both of them meant so much to this program in terms of their skill sets and leadership.

Luckily, the Seminoles were able to bring back veteran DJ Lundy who originally committed to the Colorado Buffaloes in the offseason. Lundy is the only returning piece from a season ago with the Seminoles that has any collegiate experience.

However, the coaching staff did go to work in the transfer portal where they picked up Auburn's Cam Riley and Alabama's Shawn Murphy this offseason.

Riley is a guy that has emerged in fall camp since he arrived during the summer. The former Auburn transfer originally committed to North Carolina State this spring. However, Riley backed off his pledge and decided that Florida State was his true home.

He played well during his four seasons at Auburn where he recorded 121 tackles (8 for loss) and 2.5 sacks. It looks like he and sophomore Justin Cryer will be battling for significant playing time. We could even see a trio of Lundy-Cryer-Riley this season if they want to effectively stop the running game.
