DE MARVIN JONES JR.

Former Georgia defensive end transfer Marvin Jones Jr. was the talk of the offseason. The Seminoles are having to replace the likes of do-it-all pass rusher Jared Verse who is now off to the NFL. The former Albany transfer had 18 combined sacks during his two seasons with Florida State.

Defensive ends coach John Papuchis continued his rein of success at the position with the pickup of Marvin Jones Jr. Florida State fans gravitated towards the name since he was a former five-star prospect in the Class of 2022 cycle the Seminoles were heavily pursuing and his father was legendary Seminole linebacker Marvin "Shade Tree" Jones.

The opportunities are up in the air opposite of rising star Patrick Payton. Marvin Jones Jr. seems poised to make the most of the opportunity. With the Bulldogs in two seasons, he recorded 16 tackles (5.5 for loss) and two sacks.

He is expected to have a much bigger role in the defensive game plan as he battles it out with fellow transfer acquisition Sione Lolohea from Oregon State.
