4-star TE target unofficially visiting the Noles later this month
Florida State football's 2025 recruiting class is starting to shape up its target board with a variety of highly-touted options. The Seminoles have the 42nd-best recruiting class in this cycle. However, it looks like the coaching staff is starting to find its footing with securing commitments.
On Saturday, Class of 2025 four-star tight end target Hollis Davidson III from McIntosh High School in Peachtree City, Georgia announced via social media that he will be unofficially visiting Florida State on May 23rd.
It is worth mentioning that Davidson III de-committed from the Auburn Tigers on May 6th. He has always had mutual interest within the Seminoles' program so it isn't surprising to see the tight end prospect visiting the campus once again.
Tight ends coach Chris Thomsen has to continue finding options via the recruiting trail and transfer portal. He was successful in being able to acquire former four-star prospect Landen Thomas. The Georgia native flipped from the home-state Bulldogs.
The Seminoles will try to do their best to secure the pledge and signing of another four-star prospect who used to be committed to an SEC program. The tight end position has always been vital to the coaching staff due to their ability in the offense to line up as in-line blockers/receiving options, on the outside, in the slot, and even in the backfield.
The current tight-end room has senior Kyle Morlock whom they will have to replace after the 2024 season. However, it is a great sign to see that a true freshman Landen Thomas could be vying for the number-two tight end spot this season.
Overall, there will be plenty of opportunity to go around for Davidson III if he chooses to commit to Florida State. The Seminoles will be hosting Davidson III on an official visit during the weekend of June 21st, which could bode well for the program.
