4-star safety target schedules an official visit with the Seminoles in the summer
Florida State football has still not secured a defensive back prospect in their 2025 recruiting class. However, they are working to accomplish that feat soon as they have several recruits at the position who will be officially visiting the Seminoles' campus this summer.
We have talked about four-star defensive back Gregory Thomas from American Heritage High School in Plantation, Florida in various articles. However, I would like to discuss another target that the coaching staff is interested.
The prospect is four-star safety Ladarius Clardy from Escambia High School in Pensacola, Florida. He announced on Twitter (X) that he will be taking an official visit with the Seminoles on the weekend of June 7th.
While Clardy currently possesses a crystal ball prediction in favor of Ole Miss, it is worth mentioning that defensive backs coach Patrick Surtain Sr. has continued to showcase his recruiting prowess.
Surtain Sr. was able to secure four defensive back prospects last recruiting cycle with Charles Lester III, Ricky Knight III, Cai Bates, and Jamari Howard. The recruiting target board is still rounding out for the defensive back position. However, it is great to see that Florida State is putting their best foot forward.
He has an official visit schedule lined up for the summer with UCF (May 31), Florida State (June 7), Mississippi State (June 14), Ole Miss (June 21), and Miami (July 27). The talented defender recorded 57 tackles, eight pass breakups, and four interceptions last season.
This is quite impressive for the Seminoles' coaching staff to get him on campus so quickly for an official visit since Florida State just extended an offer on May 7th. This isn't to say that the Seminoles are considered at this stage. However, if they can ensure that he will get on campus, anything is possible in today's college football recruiting landscape.
