4-star OL target Mario Nash Jr. visiting the Noles in the spring
FSU football has one of the top assistant coaches in college football with offensive coordinator/offensive line coach Alex Atkins. As most fans know, Atkins will be suspended for the first three games of the 2024 season after the NCAA found that he committed recruiting violations.
Atkins has made the Seminoles' offensive line unit a serviceable position group within the construction of the team. While the unit struggled at times in run-blocking situations, 2024 projects to be better in terms of creating running lanes for their playmakers.
Veterans such as Darius Washington, Keiondre Jones, Maurice Smith, Robert Scott Jr., and Jeremiah Byers are returning to Tallahassee for another season. However, Atkins will have to replace the pieces with bringing in talented prospects via the recruiting trail.
Florida State already has five-star offensive lineman Solomon Thomas from Raines High School in Jacksonville, Florida committed to their 2025 recruiting cycle. It looks like the Seminoles will continue to acquire talent to protect its future signal caller Tramell Jones Jr.
One prospect to monitor is four-star offensive lineman Mario Nash Jr. from Kemper County High School in De Kalb, Mississippi. On Friday afternoon, Nash Jr. released his spring visit schedule, which included Florida State on March 23rd.
March 23rd will mark the Seminoles' Legacy Weekend where there will be former players on campus to attract various recruits. The coaching staff will do everything in their power to bring as many prospects on campus as possible during that weekend. This could be a moment when the university secured several commitments.
I understand that Nash Jr. is from the state of Mississippi and he also received a crystal ball prediction in favor of the home-state Mississippi State Bulldogs. However, the recruitment is far from finished, Florida State is looking to have a tremendous 2024 campaign, and Nash Jr. has taken multiple visits to Tallahassee.
