Linebacker recruiting has been a topic of discussion recently by the Florida State football fan base. The Seminoles currently have four-star Ethan Pritchard from Seminole High School in Sanford, Florida, but the program would likely prefer to have at least one more at the position.

Florida State missed out on prospects such as four-star Zaydrius Rainey-Sale (Washington), four-star Gavin Nix (Miami), and Tavion Wallace (Arkansas) committed elsewhere. As we know, recruiting is ever-changing and it is never over even when the pen hits the paper.

Prospects can sign with a university and then find out that they don't like it there and enter the transfer portal if their National Letter of Intent is withdrawn. That is the current landscape of college football nowadays.

Even though the three highly-coveted linebacker prospects committed somewhere else, the Seminoles are still trying their hand at other targets.

According to a report from On3's Steve Wiltfong, Class of 2025 four-star linebacker Ty Jackson from Seminole Ridge High School in Loxahatchee, Florida will be officially visiting Florida State during its matchup versus the Florida Gators in November.

Jackson has been a tackling machine through his three years in high school where he has recorded 378 total tackles.

This is a massive development of his visiting as the Seminoles need to lock in on acquiring linebacker prospects, especially considering that current players such as DJ Lundy and Cam Riley will be graduating after the 2024 season.

However, it is fair to note that other teams such as Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Penn State, and Tennessee are recruiting him as well. The Seminoles will not have an easy road when it comes to putting their recruiting hat on.

We already mentioned that four-star cornerback commit Gregory "Zae" Thomas has been persuading Jackson to commit to the Seminoles. Hopefully, Florida State will have a successful season filled with quality linebacker play that will attract the talented prospect to Tallahassee.
