4-star DE target Zion Grady recaps his official visit with Florida State
Florida State already has one defensive end prospect committed to its 2025 recruiting cycle with four-star defensive end Javion Hilson from Cocoa, Florida. The Seminoles were able to flip in pledge back in January, and was thought to be a massive acquisition for the program.
With that being said, defensive ends coach John Papuchis is not done with solidifying more talented prospects at the position. Pass rusher is a premier that deserves the utmost attention given how they can impact the results of games.
One prospect that officially visited this weekend for the Seminoles was four-star defensive end Zion Grady from Enterprise, Alabama. I get it... Seminole fans rolled their eyes at the fact of Florida State going after another state of Alabama recruit. However, even On3's Steve Wiltfong thinks that the Seminoles hold the advantage in the recruitment.
With that being said, Florida State needs to continue to pursue Grady and not give up on their aggression. Before the talented pass rusher left Tallahassee to go back home, he spoke to a variety of media members on Sunday afternoon. Here is what he had to say:
-Florida State has a way of showing him more every time that he comes to visit. They do more things with him and showcase him as a priority.
-The main objective of doing the official visit with the Seminoles was to build a stronger relationship with the coaching staff. Coach John Papuchis tells him that he is the best fit. He likes that Coach JP (Papuchis) is cool, chill (laid back as the kids would say), and a great person. He will tell you what it is.
-Florida State knows how to give its defensive ends 1-on-1 opportunities to be successful.
-He still has official visits with Auburn, Tennessee, and Ohio State. A decision should be sometime around July. He really likes Florida State and will make it back for a game in the fall.
-Development, background on and off the field, and being comfortable with the coaching staff will be a huge part in deciding the best school for him.
