Defensive tackles coach Odell Haggins reaped the benefits of having two of the more talented players at the defensive tackle position in the conference with redshirt seniors Braden Fiske and Fabien Lovett Sr. However, both contributors have exceeded their eligibility and gone to the NFL.

Luckily, the Seminoles still have options such as Darrell Jackson Jr. and Joshua Farmer on the team which can ensure that the position can at least have some familiarity. Not to mention that they also added transfers this offseason such as Grady Kelly (Colorado State) and Tomiwa Durojaiye (West Virginia).

While it hurt losing Fiske and Lovett Sr. to the NFL, Florida State also has to replace the likes of Malcolm Ray and Ayobami Tifase in the transfer portal. As a result, the Seminoles need to depend on other options for dependable depth. I am a huge fan of redshirt sophomore Daniel Lyons.

However, in terms of redshirt freshman, I think KJ Sampson could be an absolute unit in the middle of the defense for the Seminoles. Head football coach Mike Norvell has mentioned Sampson in his interview and is impressed with the former four-star prospect's development.

He redshirted during the 2023 season but I believe that Sampson, at the very worst, could provide serviceable depth as he continues to groom his technique at the position.
