DEFENSIVE LINE DOMINANCE

It might be a bit of a bold prediction but I believe the defensive line is the strength of the team. That is saying a lot considering that the Seminoles will have to replace the likes of defensive end Jared Verse as well as defensive tackles Braden Fiske and Fabien Lovett Sr.

It is not easy to shrug off losing two defensive linemen who were top 50 draft picks. However, I believe that defensive ends coach John Papuchis and defensive tackles coach Odell Haggins will have these players ready to go.

I am most excited about the dynamic pass-rushing duo of Patrick Payton and Marvin Jones Jr. (as well as Sione Lolohea). Payton has continued to showcase his develop his skill set as a pass rusher as he is up to 254 pounds this offseason. Jones Jr. is a skilled defensive end that has not had the most opportunities during his time with the Georgia Bulldogs.

You also have to consider that former high school teammates Darrell Jackson Jr. and Joshua Farmer will finally be able to play together after the NCAA did not allow Jackson Jr. to play in the regular season due to the two-time transfer rule (which was unfair).

Overall, this is a group that I would be very excited about as the season approaches.
