STABLE RUNNING BACK GROUP

Florida State football had the luxury of ultra-talented rusher Trey Benson who had 900+ rushing yards and 14 touchdowns last season. This seems to be a recipe for disaster in terms of replacing that production. For reference, Benson was selected by the Arizona Cardinals in the 2024 NFL Draft.

However, running backs coach David Johnson might have an even deeper position group than he did last year. The Seminoles returned pieces such as Lawrance Toafili, Caziah Holmes, and Samuel Singleton Jr. They also added transfers Roydell Williams (Alabama) and Jaylin Lucas (Indiana) as well as recruits such as Kameron Davis and Micahi Danzy.

This is a perfect opportunity to get back to their "bread and butter" where they run the football at an efficient rate. This is especially important given that the Seminoles are breaking in a new signal-caller in DJ Uiagalelei or Brock Glenn for their offense.

With a great running game, it will allow the passing game to open itself up downfield which will give Uiagalelei or Glenn more opportunity to showcase their strong arm and pocket presence.
