FOUR-STAR RB BYRON LOUIS

Florida State has benefitted from having defensive backs coach Patrick Surtain Sr. on the coaching staff given his connections with American Heritage High School since he was a former head football coach at the high school.

The Seminoles have four-star defensive back prospect Gregory Thomas committed to the program recently. This was a massive get for Florida State as they got a lengthy cornerback who has the ability to play on the outside and in the slot.

Overall, the pledge of Thomas could help with the recruitment of his high school teammate (four-star Byron Louis). Louis officially visited Florida State during the weekend of June 21st. While he was leaning toward Ohio State at one point, the talented back is now trending in the Seminoles' favor.

The running back position seems to be a recruiting need for the program as current players such as Roydell Williams, Lawrance Toafili, and Caziah Holmes are graduating after the 2024 season. Louis would be a great addition to the backfield with younger options such as Kameron Davis and Micahi Danzy.
