S JORDAN YOUNG

Florida State defensive backs coach Patrick Surtain Sr. has done a phenomenal job with putting his recruiting hat on for the Seminoles. He secured commitments from Charles Lester III, Jamari Howard, Cai Bates, and Ricky Knight III in the 2024 recruiting cycle.

With that being said, there are no safety prospects in that group. Unfortunately, five-star safety KJ Bolden de-committed from Florida State and signed with Georgia on Signing Day.

The safety position should be emphasized considering that veteran Akeem Dent is no longer eligible to play in Tallahassee. I am a huge fan of players such as Shyheim Brown and Conrad Hussey. However, there needs to be more depth in the room.

It was unfortunate that four-star safety target Darrell "Duke" Johnson Jr. elected to commit to the Alabama Crimson Tide after trending in favor of Florida State for a while. It was disheartening given that Alabama's coaching staff is so new. One prospect to monitor is four-star safety Jordan Young.

The North Carolina native has a crystal ball prediction for the Clemson Tigers. However, he is taking an official visit with the Tigers on the weekend of May 31st and then Florida State has an opportunity to officially visit with the Seminoles on the weekend of June 14th. This is something that the Seminoles need to grab given the position.
