RB JAYLIN LUCAS

Here is the common theme for this Seminoles' football team: Speed kills. The coaching staff wants to have their playmakers in space. Florida State's social media team showcased Lucas' speed in a touchdown that he scored during spring practice.

There is no question about it, Lucas is a dangerous weapon when he has the football in his hands. He will be utilized as a running back, wide receiver, and maybe even a Wildcat quarterback if the opportunities present themselves.

He could be a Jack of all trades for Florida State as they look to have a Deebo Samuel-like model of versatility to put its offense over the top. Lucas is the brother of senior wide receiver JaKhi Douglas, and we know how important he is to this program (especially when the Seminoles need Douglas the most).

Lucas was primarily utilized as a kickoff returner during his time with the Indiana Hoosiers where he recorded three touchdowns. However, this elite combination of speed and vision could be beneficial on punt returns as well.

Overall, I am excited to see how the coaching staff handles the punt return duties for the 2024 season.
