3 players to monitor with the Noles' third week of spring football practice
DT DARRELL JACKSON JR.
Florida State's defensive line is having to replace contributors such as Jared Verse, Braden Fiske, Fabien Lovett Sr., Gilber Edmond, and Malcolm Ray. That is not an easy task to replicate their production.
The interior of their defensive line will have to rely upon Darrell Jackson Jr. and Joshua Farmer, who are very close friends. Jackson Jr. did not get to participate in the majority of the 2023 season due to the NCAA's two-transfer rule.
Even though he did get to play in the Seminoles' Orange Bowl matchup versus the Georgia Bulldogs, we saw how meaningless the game was with the multiple opt-outs. However, now Jackson Jr. has an opportunity to make a name for himself in 2024.
Through the early portion of spring, the talented defensive tackle has been characterized as "dominant". Florida State is going to need that to continue as they look to potentially make the 12-team College Football Playoff.
