3 players to monitor with the Noles' third week of spring football practice
TE LANDEN THOMAS
The tight end position has always been valuable in head football coach Mike Norvell's offensive system as they can line up as in-line blockers, in the slot, on the outside, and in the backfield. Florida State will have to do its best to replace ultra-talented Jaheim Bell, who was the third-leading receiver from a season ago.
While I do expect veteran Kyle Morlock to be a starter at tight end, the coaching staff needs to find out who they will pair alongside him. One candidate that I am monitoring closely is true freshman Landen Thomas.
Florida State was able to secure the former four-star prospect (should have been a five-star) after he originally committed to the Seminoles then he flipped to the Georgia Bulldogs before going back to Florida State and signing with them.
Norvell has been excited about Thomas' development and has even discussed him on different occasions. Even though it is not always the best idea to start a true freshman, he might be a talent that cannot be ignored.
