3 players to be excited about for the Noles with 15 weeks before season opener
DE MARVIN JONES JR.
Norvell has always made Florida State a transfer portal destination given his coaching staff's ability to develop players to the next level. Defensive end coach John Papuchis deserves a ton of credit as he has brought along players such as Jermaine Johnson II, Keir Thomas, Jared Verse, and now Patrick Payton.
Florida State brought in what seems to be two quality defensive end transfer prospects such as Sione Lolohea (Oregon State) and Marvin Jones Jr. (Georgia). Both of them are expected to be heavy contributors for the Seminoles in 2024.
It is understandable to comprehend why Jones Jr. gets discussed like he does. He was a former five-star prospect in the 2022 recruiting cycle that the Seminoles wanted. Unfortunately, he elected to sign with the Georgia Bulldogs. While being a reserve for the Bulldogs, he decided that he wanted to carve out a bigger role for himself in hopes of being an NFL draft pick.
Fans remember his father (Marvin "Shade Tree" Jones Sr.), who was a hall-of-fame linebacker who played with the Seminoles in the 1990s. While it is a ton of expectations put on the younger Jones, I believe that he will be up to the challenge at hand.
