3 players that need to show up in the Seminoles' fall camp
WR KENTRON POITIER
Florida State is having to replace the likes of big-bodied playmakers such as Johnny Wilson and Keon Coleman, who have navigated to the NFL.
Wide receivers coach Ron Dugans decided to go to the recruiting ranks and transfer portal this offseason. In the 2024 recruiting cycle, they added Camdon Frier, BJ Gibson, Lawayne McCoy, and Elijah Moore. Dugans secured Alabama's Malik Benson and LSU's Jalen Brown.
I expect Malik Benson to be the number-one wide receiver in the offense. I also expect newcomers such as Lawayne McCoy, Elijah Moore, and Jalen Brown to be a part of the game plan. However, it is reasonable to wonder who will be the number-two playmaker in the offense.
The coaching staff is trying to get second-year players such as Hykeem Williams more consistent. I believe that a veteran has to emerge for the role. I think this is an opportunity for senior Kentron Poitier to step up.
Unfortunately, Poitier has battled injuries during his years in Tallahassee. He has never accumulated more than 300 receiving yards in a season while at Florida State. It is a lot to ask from him, but I believe this is where the veteran has to make his presence felt.
