QB DJ UIAGALELEI

The quarterback position is one of the most vital when it comes to how a team performs on the football field. The Seminoles had the luxury of having veteran signal-caller Jordan Travis in 2023. However, he is now off to the NFL to play with the New York Jets.

Words cannot describe how valuable Travis was to the program. It was a shame to see him suffer the season-ending injury versus North Alabama and ruin the chances of Florida State making the College Football Playoff, but I know that he will have a fantastic professional career.

It will be difficult to replace Travis, but the coaching staff did its best this season by bringing in a veteran presence to the position room by acquiring former Clemson and Oregon quarterback DJ Uiagalalei.

I realize that Uiagalelei is not Jordan Travis. He has had an up-and-down collegiate career and it seems as though his biggest downfall is his accuracy with the short to intermediate passes. However, if Uiagalelei can find his rhythm in the offense, I believe that he will have the biggest impact on turning the Seminoles from being a good team to a great team.
