DE MARVIN JONES JR.

Coming into the 2022 recruiting cycle, Seminole fans were so excited about the opportunity to potentially land former five-star defensive end prospect Marvin Jones Jr. His father was legendary Florida State linebacker Marvin "Shade Tree" Jones Sr.

Obviously, that legacy tree is something that has Seminole fans buzzing around Tallahassee. The one obstacle is having to replace the likes of ultra-talented pass rusher Jared Verse who was selected by the Los Angeles Rams in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Florida State was able to get the services of Jones Jr., who will certainly help the rotation at the defensive end position. While the defensive end did not record much statistics during his time with the Bulldogs, he is in a position to have a heavy workload in Tallahassee.

Defensive ends coach John Papuchis seems to always get the most out of his defensive ends with developing players such as Jermaine Johnson II, Keir Thomas, Jared Verse, and Patrick Payton.

I could envision a situation where Marvin Jones Jr. and Patrick Payton have double-digit sack totals during the 2024 season.
