3 FSU football players with the most to prove at the NFL Scouting Combine
DEFENSIVE TACKLE FABIEN LOVETT SR.
It was a massive development in terms of news this past offseason when veteran defensive tackle Fabien Lovett Sr. announced that he would be returning for his senior season in 2023.
As I alluded to previously, the former Mississippi State transfer came in with his teammate Jarrian Jones. The 300-pound defensive lineman had intentions to make his last ride in Tallahassee memorable. However, injuries derailed the campaign that he was expecting.
The coaching staff understood that the team was performing well and there were games where most of the starters were out after the early portion of the third quarter. As a result, they decided to take the opportunity to rest players like Fabien Lovett Sr.
Lovett Sr. played hurt for the majority of the season and the coaching staff made it a priority to put him on a limited snap count to ensure that they would have him ready for postseason play. Unfortunately, the Seminoles did not have the opportunity to utilize him in the playoffs due to the snub.
However, just like the other players listed, Lovett Sr. has a chance to create value for himself as he prepares to continue caring for his child. That is what the combine is all about.
