WIDE RECEIVER JOHNNY WILSON

Florida State wide receiver Johnny Wilson was acquired by the Seminoles two offseasons ago. The big-bodied playmaker (who transferred in from Arizona State) did not have a memorable career with the Sun Devils where he recorded 18 receptions for 233 yards and one touchdown in his two seasons there.

However, his potential was unleashed when he was inserted as the focal point in head football coach Mike Norvell's offensive scheme. Wilson was a mismatch nightmare specifically in the redzone. While he was not the fastest wide receiver in the world, he was able to create enough separation to get himself open.

With that being said, Wilson had his flaws as a player. He dealt with a drop issue where there were instances where he could have capitalized on more scoring opportunities if he held on to the football. Plus, the concussion injuries were also worrisome in 2023 which cost him a few games.

Overall, if the former Arizona State transfer runs a solid time then I could envision him possibly being a Day 2 pick. While it is somewhat of a loaded wide receiver class, an NFL team could use a big-bodied playmaker that can get first downs.
