Florida State football is the 42nd-best recruiting class in the 247Sports Composite rankings. However, we as fans, go through this thinking process every year before the coaching staff starts to generate recruiting momentum. We all know that being 42nd in recruiting rankings should not be the standard at a school such as Florida State.

This is not an article listing excuses for the team being in the 40s for recruiting rankings. However, it is fair to assess where we are right now. We are currently in May (which is seven months away from December's Early Signing Period). Official visits have not even started yet.

Florida State football plans to have a monumental June 21st recruiting weekend where several highly touted prospects will be on campus. The Seminoles have not secured a commitment since four-star defensive end Javion Hilson flipped his pledge from the Alabama Crimson Tide.
