247Sports' Josh Pate predicts FSU football in the 2024 ACC Championship Game
Florida State is coming off a 2023 season where it accomplished an undefeated regular season and a conference championship. However, in 2024, the Seminoles will not have the likes of Jordan Travis, Keon Coleman, and Jared Verse coming out of the tunnel in the garnet and gold anymore.
The coaching staff had a plan in place as it added several newcomers in hopes of avenging the College Football Playoff committee's decision in December to exclude Florida State from the opportunity to compete for a national championship in favor of a one-loss Alabama team.
The Seminoles are hungry and determined to prove the doubters wrong as Vegas has set the over/under win total at 9.5. Teams such as Clemson and Miami are also in heavy consideration for competing for the ACC.
As it relates to the Hurricanes, they are led by ultra-talented quarterback Cameron Ward who transferred over from Washington State. Miami has the preseason hype building this offseason (when do they not have preseason hype?). This is one of the Hurricanes' best offenses on paper in a decade.
However, this is ChopChat and not HurricaneChat, let's stop discussing before their fan base gets confident about their squad just to be disappointed once again in December.
247Sports' Josh Pate conducted his weekly episode of "Late Kick Josh" where he breaks down the Power 5 conference championship games (including winners) and who he thinks will be included in the College Football Playoff.
Pate has a Florida State-Miami matchup in the ACC Championship Game where the arch-rivals go head to head and have the Seminoles winning. After the playoff committee's debacle, Florida State is trying to prove the doubters wrong from last season.
However, it is easier said than done to see Miami in the ACC Championship Game since they have only made the conference title game since it joined in 2004.
