WR KALIQ LOCKETT

Florida State wide receivers coach Ron Dugans has been putting his recruiting hat in the last few recruiting cycles. Dugans was able to secure the signings of four pass catchers in the 2024 cycle with Camdon Frier, BJ Gibson, Lawayne McCoy, and Elijah Moore.

At one point during the 2022 recruiting cycle, some fans were so hesitant about Dugans's ability to recruit at an effective level due to his not securing any prospects via the high school ranks during that time.

However, that room has transformed into something with talented pieces such as Hykeem Williams and Vandrevius Jacobs. One notable pass catcher from the 2025 cycle came on a visit this weekend to campus was five-star Kaliq Lockett from Sachse High School in Sachse, Texas.

It is worrisome that targets such as five-star Jaime Ffrench Jr. and four-star Vernell Brown III are trending toward Ohio State. As a result, Florida State needs to look for other options. While the Texas Longhorns could be a factor for Lockett being the home-state team, the Seminoles could make some noise if they get an official visit.
