FSU football has already secured one defensive end recruit in their 2025 recruiting class with four-star Javion Hilson, who recently de-committed from the Alabama Crimson Tide likely as a result of head football coach Nick Saban retiring from the program.

Fans understand how important pass rushers are to the success of a program. The Seminoles have had their fair share of elite defensive ends throughout the last few years such as Jared Verse, Jermaine Johnson II, Keir Thomas, Patrick Payton, etc.

However, it is a position that you can continue to stack talent at. As a wise man once said, you can never have too many pass rushers. While Florida State has been successful at obtaining defensive ends via the transfer portal, they have struggled at times grabbing pass rushers who pan out (Patrick Payton is an exception).

The Seminoles have unfortunately struck out on numerous pass rushers in the past few recruiting classes such as Rueben Bain, LJ McCray, Marvin Jones Jr. (who ended up transferring to FSU), Trevion Williams, Keldric Faulk, etc.

Speaking of Keldric Faulk, the former four-star prospect was originally committed to Florida State but he decided to flip to the home-state Auburn Tigers even after they hired head football coach Hugh Freeze.

Interestingly enough, Class of 2025 Auburn four-star defensive end commit Jakaleb Faulk (younger brother of Keldric Faulk) announced on social media that he would be unofficially visiting Florida State this weekend.

While I understand that Jakaleb did not de-commit from the university, I am surprised that the coaching staff is going through with having him on campus. This is because his brother is playing at the school that he is currently committed to.

Overall, you never turn away talent at the position. Jakaleb is his own person, and should not be labeled as his older brother.
