CB CHARLES LESTER III

Florida State defensive backs have been serviceable this season, where they have had moments of shine with Earl Little Jr., Ashlynd Barker, Edwin Joseph Jr., and Ja'Bril Rawls. Speaking of Rawls, he will be out for the Virginia Tech game.

This is concerning since the defense struggled without his presence before. The Pensacola, Florida, native brings a sense of aggression and physicality that will be missed. The former three-star prospect was mentioned by defensive coordinator Tony White in the offseason as being an NFL prospect, but there were fans that discredited the idea.

Defensive back coaches Patrick Surtain Sr. and Evan Cooper has talented options in the defensive backfield to replace Rawls, but they have to be consistent. The next in line could be redshirt freshman cornerback Charles Lester III.

This was a high four-star prospect that the Seminoles battled with the likes of Colorado in his recruitment process before he ultimately chose to come to Tallahassee. This could be a coming out party for the youngster, as he looks to find a spot for himself on the rotation.
