RB GAVIN SAWCHUK

Florida State football has been a committee approach at the running back position this season. This is frustrating for many to watch since it looks like a revolving door that doesn't cater around the strengths of the playmakers.

While I understand there are players in the position group that are talented, there is no sense in having six running backs with 15+ carries. Assistant coach David Johnson has his motto of "We on Fries". However, the fry machine looks to be coming off the tracks.

First it was Gavin Sawchuk, then it was Ousmane Kromah, then it was Caziah Holmes, and then finally it was Samuel Singleton Jr. When Florida State acquired former UCF head football coach Gus Malzahn to be the offensive coordinator, I thought that there would be one or two workhorse backs like RJ Harvey was with the Knights.

Sawchuk probably shouldn't have lost his carries, with 94 attempts for 433 yards and eight touchdowns. Hopefully, the veteran speaks up for himself and gets another chance.
