GRASS ISN'T ALWAYS GREENER
Florida State football did not have a successful 2024 season, with a 2-10 record. The youngsters were in full effect for the Seminoles team that wasn't very good.
The coaching staff put a ton of time and resources into getting players such as Brock Glenn, Luke Kromenhoek, Kam Davis, Lawayne McCoy, Landen Thomas, Amaree Williams, Andre Otto, and others into the rotation.
There came growing pains with that, but it was supposed to be a vital piece for Florida State's future. The Seminoles learned in 2024 that they cannot rely on the transfer portal after picking up veteran quarterback DJ Uiagalelei.
Uiagalelei suffered an injury versus SMU, so the Seminoles relied on quarterbacks Brock Glenn and Luke Kromenhoek. The fan base had high hopes for Kromenhoek since he was a former five-star prospect in the 2024 cycle.
LUKE KROMENHOEK
Fans were stunned this offseason as the Georgia native announced that he would be transferring from Florida State. This was shocking since Kromenhoek was thought to be a potential starter in 2025.
When it happened, there was speculation that the youngster would go to a Group of Five team. However, he signed with the SEC bottom dweller (according to the preseason rankings), Mississippi State. The Bulldogs have proved the doubters wrong as they are 3-0 with a big win over Arizona State.
Veteran quarterback Blake Shapen has 724 passing yards with six touchdowns and two interceptions. Then, Kamario Taylor has had a touchdown pass. However, Luke Kromenhoek has only had four pass attempts, which didn't seem to be part of his motive when transferring out.
If the former Seminole had stayed in Tallahassee, he could have had a chance to start for multiple years at Florida State. This teaches young players that the grass isn't always greener on the other side.
