Two former FSU players have joined forces in the Big Apple. The New York Jets signed former FSU football wide receiver Ontaria "Pokey" Wilson to a reserve/future contract.
Wilson went undrafted in 2023 after five years at FSU and signed as a UDFA with the Los Angeles Chargers. He was cut that same year and joined the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League(CFL) in 2024. He had a breakout game with 13 receptions for 201 yards and a touchdown against the Calgary Stampeders in July 2024.
Wilson will reunite with his former quarterback at FSU, Jordan Travis. Travis was drafted in the fifth round of the 2024 NFL Draft and was on the reserve/non-football injury list while recovering from the injury that ended his career at FSU. Travis could compete for the quarterback job with the Jets in 2025 since the Jet's future with Aaron Rogers is up in the air.
Travis and Wilson helped lead the 2022 FSU offense that was top 10 nationally. Wilson had 30 receptions for 495 yards and four touchdowns in 2022, including several highlight catches in some big games. He finished his career with 108 receptions, 1,521 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns.

Pokey Wilson came to FSU in 2017, under Jimbo. Part of a 23 man class. He was the last left by 2022.

He was part of the nasty end of Jimbo, the Taggart saga, COVID season, Jacksonville State, legendary LSU game, leader on a 10 win team.

Wilson signed with FSU as a three-star recruit when Jimbo Fisher was the head coach and was a high school teammate with former FSU receiver Tamorrion Terry. Both hail from rural Ashburn, Georgia, and were not heralded recruits in FSU's No. 6 recruiting class nationally in 2017. However, both were two of the more productive members of that class.
