FSU FOOTBALL
Florida State football will be kicking off against the Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday, August 30th, at 3:30 PM EST in the friendly confines of Doak Campbell Stadium. The Seminole faithful is eagerly awaiting the program's response after the 2024 disaster.
Florida State added forty-four new transfers and recruits to the roster, so the fan base will have to get to know the team. We were discussing how the season was so far away a few weeks ago, but now you blink, and Florida State football is back!
I am bursting with excitement for the year! With that being said, since we are one week away from the season, I want to highlight redshirt senior defensive back Shyheim Brown and senior quarterback Thomas Castellanos, who wear the No. 1 jersey number on the Seminoles' roster.
QB THOMAS CASTELLANOS
Florida State returned to the transfer market for another quarterback, as the experiment with DJ Uiagalelei went horribly wrong. The Seminoles acquired former UCF and Boston College signal-caller Thomas Castellanos, who is now reunited with current offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn. Castellanos has shown flashes this offseason, but can he piece everything together?
DB SHYHEIM BROWN
Veteran defensive back Shyheim Brown has been someone who has been a starter over the past two years, so you thought that he would be a pivotal part of the Seminoles' defense in 2025. However, the coaching staff has not mentioned him often in defensive coordinator Tony White's physical defense that uses three safeties. I hate to say this, but I wonder if Brown will be anything more than a reserve?
