FSU FOOTBALL IS THE TALK OF COLLEGE FOOTBALL

Florida State football was riding high after its season-opening victory over Alabama by a score of 31-17. It is difficult to believe that the result happened almost two months ago. This is the reality of college football: It can change in an instant.

Head football coach Mike Norvell looked to have his squad under control and back on the right track after having a disastrous 2-10 record in 2024. However, Florida State has now rattled off four straight losses to Virginia, Miami, Pittsburgh, and Stanford after starting the campaign 3-0.

They are the talk of college football, and not in the way that you are thinking.

IS NORVELL FINISHED?

Head football coach Mike Norvell has a 36-31 record in his six seasons at Florida State. That isn't the standard of this proud program that is used to competing for conference and national championships.

The fan base saw on Monday that the Seminoles were committed to Mike Norvell for the remainder of the 2025 season and will complete a comprehensive assessment at that time. This made individuals very angry.

This seemed like the administration wanted to see how the head football coach would navigate his team through the adversity, or that they figured that they could save money from not firing him now.

Regardless of which way people think, I am not someone who will pick up a pitchfork and want to fire someone. This is a situation where I want to support all the coaches, players, and recruits for the betterment of this football program that I adore.

However, On3 analyst J.D. PicKell doesn't buy that Florida State is behind Mike Norvell, especially if they lose to Wake Forest next Saturday (November 1st). This contest will probably consist of 70% capacity with fans attempting to boo Norvell out of the stadium.

This will be a challenge for the Seminoles to get back in the national spotlight again, as they have lost 11 of their last 12 games. This is not what anyone expected coming into the 2025 season.
