Florida State is ranked as the 44th-best recruiting class in the 2025 cycle, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. The Seminoles are struggling this season with a 1-9 record. It becomes difficult to focus on the 2024 version of the squad, even though contests remain with Charleston Southern and Florida.

Most individuals did not know if head football coach Mike Norvell could get out of this disaster in Tallahassee. Head football coach Mike Norvell endured adversity after the 2020 and 2021 seasons. He was able to survive those periods.

However, the 2024 campaign is an unexcusable mess in the fifth year of Norvell's tenure. This is not the standard of Florida State. With that being said, the Seminoles cannot just fire Norvell and buy the $65 million. The program is going through stadium renovations, suing the conference, and a football-only facility.

We learned on Tuesday that three-star offensive lineman Daniel Pierre Louis flipped his commitment from Florida State to Florida. Then four-star defensive tackle commit Kevin Wynn had received a flip crystal ball prediction to South Carolina from TheBigSpur South Carolina Insider JC Shurburtt.

Fans thought that the news would get easier on Wednesday, but that is not the case as four-star running back commit Byron Louis from American Heritage High School in Plantation, Florida has scheduled an official visit to Florida this weekend as the Gator take on Ole Miss.

The Gators are gaining a ton of recruiting momentum after defeating the likes of LSU at home. It was thought in the preseason that the Seminoles could take advantage of Florida with head football coach Billy Napier being on the hot seat with the tough schedule.

However, the Gators' future looks bright as Florida State continues to tread water on the 2025 recruiting class. It looks like head football coach Mike Norvell has decided to punt on high school recruiting this year to get immediate help in the transfer portal.

We will see how the strategy pans out.
