FSU FOOTBALL SUCCESS

Florida State football finally got a win on Saturday against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, as they defeated them by a score of 42-7. It felt great for the program to get in the win column after being over 400 days since beating a conference opponent.

This is something that I never envisioned that would happen in this program's proud history, but here we are. The good news is that the squad as a whole looks to be fully invested in what head football coach Mike Norvell is investing in Tallahassee.

There were rumblings that he might have lost the locker room with the four straight losses, so it is encouraging to witness a team that still wants to fight for their coach to stick around.

FSU RECRUITING

One of the bigger pictures in all of this centered around the idea of what the Seminoles' recruiting efforts would look like. Acquiring high school talent and developing them has been an issue in Tallahassee. The Seminoles have been seeing the benefits from the 2025 recruiting cycle, but there needs to be a bigger sample size.

The 2026 recruiting class is shaping up to be a nice one, as Florida State ranks as the 13th-best in the country, according to 247Sports Composite. The Seminoles were able to get a local three-star safety/linebacker prospect Daylen Green to flip his commitment from Arkansas to Florida State yesterday.

Unfortunately, four-star safety commit Tedarius Hughes announced on Tuesday afternoon that he would be flipping from Florida State to Syracuse, which wasn't a surprising development since he had visited the Orange and hasn't made it back to Tallahassee.

The bad news didn't continue later that day, as three-star defensive end Franklin Whitley from Greenville, South Carolina, decided to announce his pledge with Florida State over schools such as Alabama, Tennessee, and South Carolina.

Whitley is a 6'6" and 260 pound defender that the Seminoles needed on their defensive line. This is a massive get for the program, as they look to continue developing in the trenches.
