Florida State had a couple of key injuries during Saturday's 28-22 loss to Miami when defensive back Quindarrius Jones and offensive lineman Micah Pettus both left the game and did not return.
Pettus, the starting right tackle, is listed on the early depth chart for Week 6 and should be considered questionable. But Mike Norvell announced that Jones would miss the rest of the season. The junior reportedly has his arm in a sling and will need surgery.

"Unfortunately, Q suffered an injury earlier in the game, during the game, that's going to require surgery, and he'll be out for the rest of the season," Norvell said during his Monday morning media conference. "Obviously, unfortunate news for him, unfortunate news for us. I know he'll bounce back from it."
Jones, a 6-foot-2, 195-pounder from Meridian, Mississippi, is one of the cornerbacks in the regular rotation. His size offers some scheme versatility and a reliable match against some bigger, physical receivers.
Defensive depth will be tested
FSU is getting a little thin in the secondary. Jones was one of the more experienced backups and a player that had started before and could play extended snaps. With Jones on the shelf, it's going to give opportunities to redshirt freshman Charles Lester III and true freshman Shamar Arnoux, who played 13 snaps against Miami.
"It does shake up our defensive backfield. He'd been playing as our third corner. Now it's an open-door opportunity for someone else," Norvell said. "We've got to continue to be better there within our secondary. We gave up some explosive plays the other day....things we need to get corrected. That's a group that is continuing to get challenged, and challenge themselves."
Starting safety Ashlynd Barker is also questionable to start the week after missing the Miami game. Norvell said Barker's status will be monitored during the week.
