We're less than two weeks away from the start of official visits at FSU and there is plenty of work to do. One position I believe Mike Norvell wants to check off early in the recruiting season is running back. The past two cycles have seen the Seminoles get two major recruits in the 11th hour as the signing period approached. Two years ago, FSU was able to put together a strong NIL package to sway Ousmane Kromah from Georgia and last year the Seminoles won the back-and-forth battle over South Carolina for in-state back Amari Thomas.
FSU has had a couple of big targets come off the board in recent weeks when Ty Keys committed to Miami and Brayden Tyson chose South Carolina over the Seminoles and a few other programs, but starting next weekend, Norvell and staff will host a number of recruits that could potentially fill that hole at running back.
Keep an eye on these RB prospects that will be visiting FSU
Jayden Miles, 4-star (May 29)
Miles, a blue-chip player out of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, is the first running back that FSU will be bringing onto campus in an official capacity. This is going to be a very tough battle with LSU now coming on strong and the hometown Tigers are going to be tough to beat for any in-state prospect. FSU was very early on Miles, offering him over two years ago and recently sent running backs coach Kam Martin on a visit. I don't think FSU is going to compete financially with LSU if the Tigers really want him, so this is going to come down to relationships and comfort.

Asa Barnes, 3-star (June 5)
Where FSU has been involved in Miles' recruitment for a couple of years, the Seminoles were on the outside looking in with Barnes until he recently switched out his official visit to Kentucky for one to Tallahassee. Arkansas (May 29), USC (June. 12) and Tennessee (June 19) are the other scheduled officials, but I think the Seminoles could put themselves in a position to be Barnes' favorite coming out of the summer visit season. FSU could possibly even get a commitment here during his official visit. Keys is also scheduled to take his official visit during this first weekend in June, so it's worth seeing if FSU can get back into his recruitment.
Tai Phillips, 3-star (June 5)
Phillips joins Barnes and Keys as running backs that will be in Tallahassee on that first weekend of June. Phillips is a late addition, putting FSU on the schedule this week. He recently took a visit to NC State, and it seems like the Wolfpack are in a pretty good position coming out of that trip. Phillips was long thought to be a lean to Virginia Tech, but the Hokies have a couple of backs committed, and those developments might've been what got the Seminoles back in the picture.
Norvell and Martin will have some players to evaluate, and the hope is that they can put the Seminoles in position to land a commitment coming out of the first two weekends of official visits.
