The Florida State Seminoles just put together their biggest win of the 2026 season. In fact, that was likely their most important win since the Alabama game to open last year.
The Noles needed to win that game as badly as they needed any single win during the Mike Norvell era. There was a growing belief that had that game gone differently, Norvell could've been out, or at the very least the season would be in a very precarious spot at 2-3 with a difficult schedule coming up.
Instead, the Noles are above .500, have a win in the ACC against a quality opponent, and now appear to have some momentum going into the meat of their schedule. Taking away the right mindset and positives from last weekend's game could dramatically change how the rest of the season looks for FSU, and wide receiver Micahi Danzy's recent comments on the team's mentality seems to epitomize the fact that the team is taking away all of the right things.

This is exactly what Florida State fans want to hear from the team. Both sides of the ball were able to gain their confidence, especially the defense, and now the focus is on looking ahead to the next game rather than soaking in the victory.
It would be especially easy to soak in this victory. Many players on this team haven't earned many chances to celebrate over the past few years. Outside of the Alabama game, most of FSU's biggest wins have come against opponents that are obviously in a different tier, and usually those wins have come amid a sea of brutal losses.
While the Noles have already experienced some highs and lows this season, the team has been able to move past all of that with a "this week is all that matters" mentality. Assuming FSU can bring that mentality for the rest of the year and continue growing in confidence, there are very few teams in the country that will be able to stop this group.
It would be more than fair to say that it's evident that the Seminoles have finally turned the corner, but this weekend is where they can prove that fact and actually live out Danzy's words.
