He's getting the top players to visit, can he get a few to sign?

Earlier this week, I wrote how FSU basketball head coach Luke Loucks got an official visit scheduled with an in-state blue-chip talent.

One thing that's becoming apparent is that Luke Loucks will be in the mix with a lot of blue-chip players compared to the latter years with Leonard Hamilton.

Luke Loucks scheduled another in-state top-75 composite player to take an official visit to FSU. Four-star small forward Kevin Thomas is the latest. Thomas ranks as the No. 65 player and No. 25 small forward nationally. He plays at Sagemont Prep School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Thomas is listed as 6'7" and 190 pounds and has offers from Auburn, Tennessee, Mississippi State, Georgia Tech, California, Washington, and a host of smaller schools.

Thomas will visit on August 29th, along with three more blue-chip players.

Thomas plays more like a combo guard who can handle the ball and shoot it well from the three-point land as a spot-up shooter. He seems to fit the mold of the players Loucks has added to the squad since his arrival.

Loucks favors athletes with exceptional length who can put the ball in the basket.

Thomas is one of six players ranked inside the composite top 100 who have official visits scheduled with FSU between August and September. What's important is that five of the six players play high school basketball in Florida. FSU is among the first to schedule official visits with most of these players, so we'll see how well Luke Loucks can close.

Schools getting players to visit campus isn't the same as it has been in years past, but it's still a good sign that Loucks is already in the mix with several blue-chip talents.
