FSU head coach Luke Loucks said he was ready for the portal to open so he could get to work on building the roster for next year a couple of days ago while at the NCAA Final Four. The transfer portal officially opened on Tuesday, and over 1,000 players have officially entered. One of those players is former Florida State player Taylor Bol Bowen.

FSU needs guys who can shoot it, defend, and get on the cheap because of limited resources.
Bol Bowen played at Florida State for two years before transferring to Alabama after Leonard Hamilton retired. Bol Bowen averaged eight points and five rebounds per game as a sophomore for Hamilton, and more importantly, shot 41.4 percent from the three-point line.
The latter is one of the most important attributes that Luke Louck and the staff need in the offense. They put a premium on guys who can shoot.
However, he dealt with several injuries this season while at Alabama and saw his production decrease. Bol Bowen only averaged 6.3 points and 4.2 rebounds. He saw his three-point shooting percentage decrease to 30.2 percent.
Bol Bowen is 6’ 10” and 202 pounds. He shoots nearly 80 percent from the free-throw line and would be a nice piece to add to the roster for Luke Loucks' second year. He’d provide experience, the ability to stretch the floor, three-point shooting, and great length on defense.
His familiarity with Florida State could be a plus, and FSU could potentially get him at a discount with the injury history and the previous two years in Tallahassee.
It'll be interesting to see who Luke Loucks and the staff target from the transfer portal. The coaching staff has two weeks to find the pieces they need to rebuild the roster.
